How do I know when it is time to replace my HVAC system?
This question depends on the unit and how updated it is, but on average heating and cooling systems last about 15 – 20 years. If you have an HVAC system that is needing frequent repairs and is close to 20 years old, we would recommend discussing the replacement of your system entirely.
How I often should I have my HVAC system checked?
We recommend regular maintenance check-ups twice a year to ensure it is working properly. Annual cleaning and check-ups during the Spring and Fall help prevent emergency issues when you need your system the most!
How often should I change my filter?
The answer to this depends on which type of furnace filter, but on average you should replace your filter every 30 days.
Will a new furnace or AC help lower my utility bills?
The answer is usually yes, depending on the age and efficiency level of your current unit. We will be able to estimate the efficiency level of your current unit, and explain the advantages of a new unit.
How do I know what size AC or furnace I need?
We will do a load calculation on your home to determine the proper equipment size. Today’s units are often significantly more efficient than older models and don’t need to be as large to deliver the same or better amount of comfort. The load calculation is an important and potentially money-saving step to take, rather than just replacing your current unit with one of the same size.
